Ben and Hollys Little Kingdom On Tour!

Last week Viggo and I were invited along to Marina Theatre to watch Ben and Hollys Little Kingdom Live on Stage and Viggo Loved it!

Here is a little sneak peak…

Viggo and Tyrus enjoy watching Ben Elf and Princess Holly’s adventures on TV, the show was at 10am, so it was only Viggo that could go and watch.

The audience was full of mummy’s and daddy’s with pre-school children and all the children were transfixed by the stage and the real life Ben and Holly!

Viggo was not too sure of a giant Lucy head when they were playing tooth fairy, but soon relaxed when she became the size of Ben and Holly! He loved it when Holly turned Ben into a Frog.

The flying scene with them returning to the little kingdom was a little smoky, but Viggo didn’t notice as he was amazed that they were flying on Gaston’s back!

Jelly Flood caused great excitement, just as it does when it happens on TV! The show was just under an hour and a half with one interval, for this age children I was unsure if they would all sit for that amount of time, but they all were very happy, in fact the time passed very quickly.

If you have a Ben and Holly fan I would definitely recommend that you look out for the show coming to a theatre near you, for further details you can check out Ben and Holly Live

Looking for A Relaxing Summer Holiday ?

As you will all know by now, as a larger than average family, we struggle with accommodation, we no longer fit in a caravan, unless it has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 10, which are very few and far between. Hotels sometimes have adjacent rooms that have an interconnecting door, although that is a risk, when we last stayed in a hotel, our rooms were indeed next to each other but they were quite far apart and had no door to connect them!

So, we tend to go for cottages in the UK, but with the constant unpredictability of our weather, I have started to look abroad. This week I was in a t-shirt Saturday, a winter coat Sunday and I resembled a drowned rat on the school run yesterday! So I am in desperate need of some sunshine.

A few friends with more than two children recommended ClickStay as a place to find Villas that are big enough to accommodate us all! It is a very user friendly website and the first thing I noticed was that the people staying option went right up to 16+, so I knew there would be at least a few choices for properties to stay in.

When Xene and Lochlan were small we went to Majorca, and I have always wanted to return, so the first place I typed into a property search was Majorca and I wasn’t disappointed! There are 417  Villas and Apartments listed, for Majorca alone!

With many of them offering private swimming pools and direct access to a beach, I was expecting the cost to be high, but some of THE most amazing Villas are just over £1000 for a week during the Summer school holidays, (end of July) which is what I would expect to pay in the UK, the only thing you would need to add on is the flights. Less people is even cheaper.

They have Villas and apartments all over the World, ranging from France to Florida, Turkey to Thailand, there really is a place for everyone, whether it be a romantic holiday for two or a crazy big family holiday for people like me!

Forever Jackson Review Marina Theatre

You may remember last month I told you that Forever Jackson was performing at the Marina Theatre Lowestoft, as well as running a competition for two tickets I was also invited along with a guest to watch the show and give my thoughts.

Neva aged 13 came with me, she is too young to remember the Michael Jackson pop career, and being aged 6 when he died, however she loves watching shows and the atmosphere of the theatre.

Whilst we were at the theatre I noticed that the age range that was there was immense, there were children younger than Neva and they knew all of the words, so i’m guessing it was a parent or grandparents influence, which is natural, as I remember going to see the Buddy Holly story with my parents when I was a child and I knew all of the songs because of my dad playing the cassettes in the car (makes me sound old!).

The show was brilliant, the King of Pop is portrayed perfectly by Robin Parsons, who has the exact mannerisms and moves, along with the voice, although he does seem to have more of a sense of humour than I remember Michael ever showing!

The group of backing dancers provide the moves of the Michael Jackson era, along with a little modern touch.

The entire theatre was up on it’s feet dancing and singing away to all of the classics, and if the show is coming to a theatre near you, I would definitely recommend booking tickets, a must for the Jackson mega fans, but just as much for lovers of music as a whole, as the entire show was thoroughly entertaining.

Mamma Mia! Go see it NOW!

On Wednesday, Xene, Neva and I went along to the Theatre Royal Norwich to watch the amazing Mamma Mia, and it certainly did not disappoint any of the 1300 people who had come along to watch.

I am a huge fan of the film, but I can honestly say it was SO much better than the movie (even with Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth in the equation) The cast were outstanding and the fact that every single one of the audience were on their feet, is proof that I was not alone!

It is running until Saturday 25th March in Norwich, but don’t take too long to decide as the tickets are nearly all gone! Next stop Newcastle, you can find out all of the dates and venues here

It was always going to be a hit with me as I love Abba’s music, but I was unsure about the girls aged 18 and 13, they both thought it was fantastic and surprisingly knew all the words too.

I’m sure you all know the story, Mother and daughter and three possible fathers, all find themselves together for the daughters wedding, with lots and lots of singing and dancing, my particular favourite was the grooms stag do, with all of them dancing in wetsuits and flippers, I never even knew it was possible to dance in them!

The athleticism of the entire cast was incredible and I would definitely recommend it to everyone who is an Abba fan, or just loves musicals.
