Below Deck – Rise her up from down below, I thought I heard the first mate say
‘I treats me crew in a decent way, A glass of rum all around, And a bottle full for the shanty man.’ A captain always goes down with his ship! But what kind of captain traps his crew to go down with him? Captain Darkwaters and his crew still remain aboard The Cursed Slave. All that remains are the flesh eating pirates out for revenge.

The Institute – Only SHE can hear the voices. I asked her what they say? SHE refused to answer that question. Displaying no expression on her face SHE refused all medication to get rid of the voices. When asked ‘Why?,’ SHE replied, ‘They are my only friends.’ Trapped inside her mind but never alone. No escape from HER mind. NO escape from THE INSTITUTE

Evil Carnevil – “A clown at midnight?” the group laughed out loud. “Who would hire a clown to come to a birthday party at midnight?”

Slaughterhouse – The Tennyson family business ‘ The Abattoir’ is not all it seems.
This strange mutilated family of pigs will accept anything to be killed and eaten in their famous sausages. By anything we mean ANYTHING! This close family hide a multitude of secrets; it’s your job to make it out alive. They will drain every ounce of your fear and dispose of you accordingly.

The Haunted House – For years and years, this historic, “cursed” home has been left completely empty or has it? The stories of its past continue to haunt every inch of this building. It seems that whatever inhabits this building continues to cause trouble for whomever dare enter.

The Trail of Terror

The Trail of Terror is a pre-bookable event with a maximum capacity each evening. Arrivals will be staggered along the trail offering you screams of laughter as you won’t know what is lurking around the corner on The Trail of Terror!

Colchester Zoo will close at 5.00pm to day visitors as usual, before opening at 6.30pm on selected evenings, leaving the zoo behind as The Trail of Terror comes to life!

Taking place 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st, 25th, 27th and 28th October 2023

The Trail of Terror begins as soon as you step foot in the door, from rustling bushes, to masked monsters and screaming scarers, they could get you anytime and anywhere…
