Just in time for summer, we have the low down on Typhoon Lagoon, one of the two water parks at Disney World. It took our family quite some time to make our way to Disney’s water parks and I wish we would have gone sooner! It gets so muggy in Florida that water play is always high on our vacation list. Somehow, I thought that the pool resorts would be enough fun, but the water parks add another dimension to Disney World! This summer Typhoon Lagoon will be hosting H2O Glow Nights! I’ll tell you more about that later.
Overview
Typhoon Lagoon is located near Disney Springs and is 56 acres. Disney lore is that a powerful typhoon blew through a tropical island, scattering ships, surfboards and fishing equipment all over and wherever it landed, it stayed and is decorating this tropical paradise today. It’s not as large as the theme parks, but I really enjoy the vibe of Typhoon Lagoon.
Palm trees are everywhere, the pools are made to look like the open sea and there’s sand to play in! The park is open year-round, with scheduled closures for maintenance during the winter months, but Blizzard Beach remains open during that time, if you’re in the mood for water rides. Tickets to the water parks are separate from the theme parks and are NOT included in the Park Hopper ticket, but AttractionTix WDW Tickets do include both Water parks
Tickets
1 Day with Blockout Dates $64 for ages 10+ $58 for ages 3-9 Plus tax
1 Day $69 for ages 10+ $63 for ages 3-9 Plus tax
Blockout dates include summer and early fall so keep that in mind while planning and purchasing tickets. Waterpark tickets are similar to Park Hopper, if both parks are open, you can visit both with your admission ticket as you like. Park hours are usually 10 AM to 5 PM during off season and 10 AM to 8 PM during the summer.

The park is centered around the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool, and the rides and attractions spray out from there, with bridges and walking paths connecting everything. There are 11 attractions to explore.

H2O Glow Nights
H2O Glow Nights debuted last year and I am so happy that it’s returning this summer! The night time water park party lasts from May 30th to August 24th. This is a hard ticket event, which means that in addition to your entry ticket, you must purchase the event ticket.
Partysaurus Rex, from Toy Story is the host and he brings all his co-stars, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie. Guests will enjoy shorter attraction wait times, character meet-and-greets, special drinks and snacks, and a dance party with a live DJ. This event is a lot of fun for adults and kids. The best part is that tickets are limited, so the crowds are small!
Typhoon Lagoon is not a huge water park by Orlando standards, but it’s very clean and is kept up to date. The small touches, that only Disney can do, makes the whole experience well worth the ticket cost, which is also a pretty good deal considering you gain entrance to both parks. If you haven’t been to this water park yet, put it on your to do list!

Blimey! It looks amazing here. My kids see stuff like this on TV and always ask if we will ever go. I always say I hope so one day!
Amazing!! I can’t cope with this need to go to Disney right now!
I am not a huge water park fan but I could definitely get involved in this one.
Another great review, thank you for sharing x
I really wish we’d gone while we were in Orlando now. If we ever get back there we’ll go for sure.
I adore Typhoon Lagoon! A great place for a change of scene when you’re at Disney. We always go there for a slightly more chilled out day
Definitely bookmarking your post for when we plan our trip, so informative!
Wow, what an amazing water park! We’ve never been but would love to one day, it looks like a lot of fun. Love the sound of the Glow Nights!
I was actually talking to a friend about water parks, I don’t think I gave them enough credit until we actually visited.
This does not look like my idea of fun, lol. I like swimming as a sport, doing lanes at the pool, but not for hanging around and playing in water. My boys however would absolutely LOVE this!
Oh wow! I’m not sure I could ever leave that place. it is absolutely one of the happiest place I’ve ever seen.
