Maize mazes have become a popular activity, located at many farm parks or a spare farmers field, they usually are open during the six week summer holidays, with some lasting through the month of September too.

There are several maize mazes throughout the UK and Ireland, below is a list of all the ones we could find that have been grown in the last few years, many of them have updated their opening dates and times for 2023, but we are still waiting for confirmation form some of them if they intend to open and when, so if your favourite maize Maze doesn’t have any update, be sure to check back for further updates.

Spread over 5 acres the puzzle maize maze has obstacles, challenges, lots of paths and of course loads of fun to be had!
Answer the puzzles correctly for the easiest route but answer wrong and you may end up going for a long walk! A few red herrings to keep you guessing as well as an element of chance to mess up all the best laid plans!
Then after the summer, head into An October night, in the dark, the rustle of old Maize in the breeze… You are lost and you can feel something watching from the shadows but can’t see them… yet!

The 8 acre challenge is a great puzzle for the whole family. Navigate your way through the miles of maize pathways!
Solve the puzzles and quizzes and find the viewing platform, where you can look around and see the true extent of the maize field.
Please note that the field is bumpy. The paths are wide enough for push chairs and wheelchairs, but the ground is uneven and it could be a little hard work! Sorry – no dogs. Please bring a pencil!

Southwold Maize Maze

The theme for 2023 is birds of prey and hidden within the main maze are 6 bird focussed information boards to be tracked down.
On arrival you will receive a pack with stickers & a leaflet card to house them. Your mission is to locate the boards & complete the sticker card. All completed cards should be handed in to receive their lollipop prize.
There is an anagram challenge too with a competition to enter for the chance to win £100.
At the ‘centre’ of the main maze, you can view the beautiful Reydon marshes, home to many species of bird and quietly grazing cattle.
These picturesque scenes can be witnessed from a raised walkway that takes you above the height of the Maize Maze, and enables you to see right down to the banks of the River Blyth.
Specially designed for the littler ones but a further challenge in its own right – the MINI MAZE offers a fun and exciting extra maze adventure – ‘spot the spots’.

Preparations for the jurassic themed (yes, we’re talking dinosaurs!) 2023 Maize Maze are well underway.

There’s a reward for everyone who completes the maze and hands in their game card at the end (yes, adults you can have a game card and a sticker sheet too!). If you fill in your contact details you’ll also be entered into a Prize Draw to win a Cammas Hall goody bag.
There will be a tower in the maze which will give you some fantastic views of the maze and the surrounding countryside so don’t forget to take some photos. First entry is 10am with last entry at 3.00pm and they would suggest allowing 1-2 hours to complete both mazes.

Dove Fields Maize Maze

Come and explore in the main maze and mini maze in the 7.5 acre plot and see if you can complete the quiz’s amongst the maize.
Hand in your gamecard at the end when you will be entered into the weekly prize draw. .
In the play zone try your hand at LIMBO, race a friend at tyre hopscotch and climb the bale tower or just chill with a cuppa from the Snack Shack.
They are also open during October half term, when they split the mazes up into 3 and change the game boards to a HALLOWEEN theme !
There are two mazes with game boards in, the mini maze will be lit up by lights to help you find your way around but the main maze will be done by torchlight.
They also open up the SPOOK maze to be done by torchlight for the more adventurous!!.
Don’t forget that this maze will be open from Saturday 28th October 2023 to Sunday 5th November 2023, so Wellies, waterproofs and torches are a must.

The maze is a natural construction created in one of the fields. Pathways can therefore be uneven and muddy, and therefore they recommend wearing suitable footwear.

Lower Drayton Farm

Help the Dino Ranger find the Mega-Dinos lost in the Maize Maze.
Last year, visitors went on a quest to find the Dino Egg – this year, they have successfully hatched eight dinosaurs on the farm; a T-Rex, a Triceratops, a Brontosaurus and two Velociraptors. The only problem is, they’ve escaped!
Your quest this year is to join the team of intrepid Dino Rangers as they search for the lost dinos in the MEGA Maize maze (without getting lost yourself). Your Dino-tastic experience will include:
- Watching the mission video briefing from the resident palaeontologist
- Hopping on the Dino Ranger trailer ride to the Maize Maze

Manor Fruit Farm Maize Maze

The A-Maze-Ing Maize Maze is back! So, do you fancy getting lost in a cake? This year’s design is a fabulous Birthday Cake to celebrate 50 years of Pick Your Own at Manor Farm Fruits.
They have two mazes for you to enjoy again this year. The Main Maze invites you to an interactive Tea Party to celebrate the 50th Golden Anniversary of “Pick Your Own”.
Make your way down the Rabbit Hole into the Maize Maze. The residents of Wonderland are hosting the Tea Party and Alice needs your help in the Tea Party Quest!
Collect what each character is bringing to the Tea Party and work out which dish is missing for the party table. If you get lost, keep hold of your head!

Welcome to Nott’s Maze!! Open every day of the summer holidays! Our maze is set within 12 acres of maize maze and is great fun for all ages. Open from 22nd July 2023.
Our paths span over 2.5 miles so you can spend hours getting lost within the maze. There are lots of hidden activities along the way to the centre.
A full map detailing how to get to the centre of the maze and back out again is available for £1 at the admissions desk. However, if you complete the challenge unaided and return the map unopened, you will receive your £1 back!

Oscars Pumpkin Patch

Overstone Grange Farm

They are very excited to be opening their new Maize Mazes this summer, from Wednesday 26th July.
A maize maze is a living maize crop that they have planted in the shape of the themed maze. This year the theme is time travel and farming.
The maze is set in 5 acres and has over 2.5km of paths for you to find your way through. The Maize Maze will be open 10am -17.00, Wednesday – Sunday until 28th August.
The main maze includes a mini maze for smaller legs. Within each maze is a game to complete with your sticker pack. A map is included if you would like one.
They also have a look out tower so you can see the maze from above and enjoy views across the farm, including the pumpkin patch and sunflower patch!
The maize maze is fun for all the family.

Pumpkin Petes Maize Maze

Head back to the farm and join them at Pumpkin Pete’s as they open the Maize Maze again for 2023.

Thornton Abbey Maize Maze
Location : Thornton Abbey, Nr Ulceby, North Lincolnshire, DN39 6TU
This exciting summer event, running from July to September, promises something for the whole family to enjoy.
They plant the maize in May and it grows through the summer, during which time the maize crop is cut out and made into a giant maze!
In the maze you will be challenged by quiz boards for adults and children, which will also help you navigate. They also have a look out bridge so you can get a great view of the maze!
There is also a large open play area with maze games, a jumping pillow, wheely sledges, Nerf gun zone, crazy golf, children’s ride on tractors and the super fun water pistol tractor ride!
This year the maze is all about dinosaurs, its going to be “rawsome”!
So if you are looking for somewhere different and fun to take the children this summer, we challenge you to conquer the Thornton Abbey Maze!

Wistow Maize Maze

Enjoy a fun day out exploring one of the country’s largest maize mazes, set in 8 acres of living maize and sunflower crop. It’s great exercise for mind and body! Perfect for all ages, with staff outings even more popular than school trips!
Follow the fun Quiz Trail, and see if you can find all 12 quiz boards hidden amongst the 3 miles of paths, with high level bridges and viewing towers giving stunning panoramic views.
You can come in and out of the giant maze as many times as you like during the day. Maybe stopping for lunch, or playing in the Activity Funyard before re-entering and completing the Quiz Trail.
“Green Sea Turtle” Maze Design 2023
To highlight the problems facing the world’s marine wildlife, the maze has been designed in the shape of a ‘Green Sea Turtle’, and the Quiz Trail, hidden amongst the 3 miles of pathways, will feature 12 other endangered marine life caused by climate change and other damaging human activity.

Weave your way down many paths in the maze to find the hidden gnomes, you may find lots of dead ends too.
Mini sunflower maze ( this year sunflowers are likely to flower in August ).
Join them this summer at the farm and try and beat the Maize maze!
The corn maize is ready and waiting for you to weave your way through the maze and try to find the 10 hidden items along the way, if you manage to find all 10 then you’ve completed the maze.
Collect your quiz sheet from the entrance hut on arrival. Please bring a pen or pencil with you.
Not only do they have the corn maze but they have the gorgeous mini sunflower maze.
This will be out in flower in August, with over 10,000 sunflowers it makes for a beautiful photo opportunity.
We have lots of things to do and see at the farm including:

The Maize Maze opens from the middle of July to the end of October each year. Our maize Maze has been open every year since 2000 and the pattern is always something farm related. The maize is ideal for older children but it is still accessible with a pushchair too.

Seaforde Gardens and Hedge Maze

Greenan Maze

Standing on half an acre, the tricky Celtic maze will positively puzzle you! A stream flows through it to the pond in the middle and a viewing tower overlooks the excitement below. Unique in design, this hedge maze is the highlight of most people’s day.

Dunbrody Abbey
Location : Dunbrody, Campile, Co. Wexford, Ireland
The Castle garden is the resting-place for an intricate yew hedge maze. Made with 1,500 yew trees, and gravel paths, it is one of only two full size mazes in Eire. Around the outside of the maze lies a 9-hole pitch and putt course.

Leahy’s Open Farm
Location : Dungourney, Midleton, Co. Cork, P25 KW14, Ireland
The size of the maze is just under one acre. It is planted in box hedging and is about 4ft height so no fear, if the kiddies get too far ahead, you will be able to see them.
There is also a viewing stand, so if you are completely lost, you can get help from the viewing area because from there you can see all the paths through the maze very clearly. It’s a real puzzler for the young and old.

Aistear Park
Location : Mountshannon, Co. Clare, Ireland
Situated in the centre of the village of Mountshannon, between the main street and the harbour. This 4.5 acre unique park includes a maze incorporating timber, stone and foliage which takes the visitor through an informative exploration of Irish Spirituality over 9000 years
