Things to do in Boston Teens will love – Boston is a city with an abundance of diverse activities. Although many are only for those 21 and over, or more suited for the middle-aged crowd, there are plenty of ways for teens to pass the time in the city.
Some of the best things to do for teenagers in Boston include sports, shopping, activities and fun things that are both entertaining and educational.
Entertaining teenagers can be a difficult task under the best circumstances, but if you are planning a trip to Boston, there is no shortage of activities that your family can enjoy, teen and adult alike.
Since Boston has many historic sites, you will want to see as many landmarks as you can while keeping your teenagers interested enough to stay off of their cell phones the entire time.

The Guardian Of Faneuil Hall Is The Perfect Place To Start
Faneuil Hall is one of downtown Boston’s most popular tourist attractions. The cobblestone-paved marketplace is as bustling with activity now as it was back when Samuel Adams was first rallying Bostonians to the cries of American revolution.
Originally a center for merchant commerce, Faneuil Hall is one of the best best places for shopping, restaurants, and street performers, including musicians, jugglers, magicians, and live statue entertainers.

For a family-friendly dining experience, try the Cheers restaurant , named for the popular ’80s sitcom of the same name.
For a taste of local Boston flair and flavor, visit the popular Durgin Park, a place where the waitresses spoon out baked beans and slap Yankee pot roast on your table with a spirited remark that you won’t find at many eating establishments.
New England Aquarium‎ Is A Great Place For Older Kids To Visit
The New England Aquarium has many features that make it appealing to a teenager visiting Boston. The location of this state-of-the-art facility is among some of the most historic buildings in the country.
Along with many sea life exhibits, the aquarium has its own IMAX theater with a screen that is 65 feet by 85 feet. Here teenagers can see both science-based films and mainstream action or sci-fi films in 3-D.
The New England Aquarium also offers harbor boat trips and other educational activities. It opens at 9 a.m. every day and closes between 5 and 7 p.m., depending on the day and season.
The Freedom Trail In The Summer Months Is A Must
The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile pathway that pays tribute to Boston’s rich Revolutionary War history.
Led by a tour guide, you can visit 16 well-known historical sites along the trail including The Paul Revere House, The Boston Common, The Old North Church, USS Constitution, Bunker Hill Monument, and Faneuil Hall.
Various free and paid events occur throughout the year, and visitors may check The Freedom Trail’s website for a current list of shows, concerts, and activities.
Fenway Park Tours On Your Next Family Vacation
Home of the Boston Red Sox and the filming location of many movies, Fenway Park offers sports enthusiasts year-round entertainment.
In addition to attending baseball games, teenagers can take guided tours of the historical ballpark to see all of its behind-the-scenes activities plus many pieces of old-school memorabilia.
On game days, an extended guided tour include watching the team pitch, and hitting and catching balls at batting practice.
For sports-loving teenagers, a tour of Fenway Park is an activity idea. Built-in 1912, the ballpark was home to Red Sox legends such as Babe Ruth and Ted Williams, so there is more than enough legend and history to fill the 50-minute walking tour.
Each tour, led by an official guide, is on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to 40 people. Although the baseball season is only six months long, the tours are year-round.
When the stadium is not in use, the tours run every day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. When the Red Sox are playing a home game, however, tours end three hours before the game time.
The Prudential Center Is A Good Place For Some Shopping
Open year-round, the Prudential Center area is a collection of specialty clothing, book and department stores, and trendy restaurants with very good food for both teenagers and you.
Also located here are various tour groups such as the unique Boston Duck Tour that takes visitors on an exciting trip around town on the road and through water.
Located on the 50th floor of the Prudential Center building, the Skywalk Observatory provides a spectacular view of the Boston skyline from all angles, an exciting and educational experience for teenagers.
Comedy
While many comedy clubs cater to an adult-only crowd, the Improv Asylum is as accessible for teenagers as it is for adults and can serve as a nice follow-up to a day of visiting historic sites.
The improvisational comedy sketches can include anything from song and dance routines to skits constructed from audience suggestions.
Located on Hanover Street in Boston’s North End, the Improv Asylum is steps away from some of the best Italian food in the city. A trip to the famous Mike’s Pastry after dinner should be a priority.
Harvard Square
Teenagers are ubiquitous in Harvard Square. Situated right outside the grounds of Harvard University, the square covers two to three blocks.
It’s home to live street music, skateboarding, and shopping. Teens can check out record stores such as Other Music and Newbury Comics inside “The Garage” mall.
Down the street, Lizzy’s, a teen-centric ice cream joint, offers up a place to indulge and relax. Harvard Square has a Red Line T subway stop of the same name, making it easy to reach.
Coolidge Corner Theatre
Coolidge Corner Theatre has been a Boston mainstay since 1933 and is the only operating not-for-profit art Deco theatre left in the city. Originally, Coolidge Corner Theatre was one of the main movie houses in town.
Now, it focuses on independent cinema and movie classics. The theater has a reputation for showing quirky films and hosting animation festivals, which has made it quite popular among local teens and college students.
It’s open seven days a week and is easily reachable by the Green Line T streetcar.
No matter what time of year it is, Boston thrives with excitement and provides fun activities for residents and visitors of all ages and interests, especially teenagers.
