Castle Quarter really is a great place to go for some family fun!
As you may have read we have visited Vector VR and Escape Hunt, so next was the turn of Boom: Battle Bar Norwich.
Lochlan had visited a few months before as part of a stag weekend, and he’d said how good it was, so I was curious to see how it would work for a family group with teens during the day as it is an Over 18s venue after 7pm.
Boom Battle Bar Norwich Activities
There are so many different activities for you to take part in at Boom Battle Bar Norwich, you could literally spend an entire day (or evening) there trying them all out!
Axe Throwing – They have two axe throwing lanes, strictly 18+ and definitely no alcohol allowed, in fact you get a wristband telling everyone you are axe throwing, so no serving of alcohol. You can have up to 10 people per lane and its for 30 Minutes which costs £45 per lane and 45 Minutes from Fri 5pm to Sat 11pm which costs £70.
Shuffleboard – The Shuffleboard is made with the finest Canadian Sugar Maple wood, you can have up to 6 people aged 11+ for 45 minutes and the cost is £28 per table
Electric Darts – There are 3 Electric Darts lanes each for up to 6 players and there’s also a VIP Dark Room for up to 10 players aged 11+, the session last 1 hour and the cost is £28 per lane and £30 for the VIP Darts.
American Pool – There are two Pool tables that can have 1-4 players 11+ per table, its for 45 minutes and costs £10 per table
Beer/Prosecco Pong – There are two Beer Pong Tables, they are up to 8 players per table age 11+ A pitcher of beer is included in the price of £28 but can be swapped out for a soft drink for younger players.
Crazier Golf – You might have played Crazy Golf… but you’ve never seen it this Crazy. Catapults, loops, conveyors… we’ve got it all. There are 9 holes and an unlimited amount of players can take part, approx 45 minutes and costs £8 per person
Ping Pong – There is 1 Ping Pong Table for 1-4 players age 11+, 30 minutes costs £10
Boom Battleshots – Battleships with Shots! There is one Battleshots table that can have 1-6 players aged 11+, lasting 45 minutes for £28 per table
Connect Pour – There is one connect pour table for up to 6 people age 11+, for 45 minutes and costs £28
Skee Ball – There is one Skee ball table for up to 6 players aged 11+, lasting 30 minutes costing £10 per table
Table Football – One table for up to 4 players, aged 11+, lasting 30 minutes, costs £10.
Our Time at Boom Battle Bar Norwich
Xene and Asa spent their time Axe Throwing, they had already filled out the waiver forms online prior to visiting, they were given a safety briefing from Ben.
They had a great time throwing axes, with both of them hitting the target frequently, throwing one axe and then two at a time, and swapping between the smaller and larger axes, both agreed they had a great time, and would definitely like to repeat the activity again.
Our Crazier Golf finished slightly earlier than the Axe Throwing, so I was able to try out Axe Throwing too which is harder than it looks but it was commented that I am a lot more aggressive than I look!
Kaide, Eowyn and I had a round of Crazier Golf, and what an experience! We all loved it, each activity had something fun and new, with pulleys and catapults, each one gave instructions on how to tackle the obstacle.
On the first hole Eowyn took a mighty swing and the ball literally flew across the room, over some other players heads! We managed to retrieve it and continue with the Golf throughout our round of Crazier Golf both Kaide and Eowyn managed to lose their golf balls and had to go and get another one each from the desk!
We had a score card to fill out as we went along, that both children were convinced they’d beat mum, but no, I actually won out of the three of us!
A great time was had by all of us and we can’t wait to see what else Castle Quarter has to offer!
