Top 10 Places to Visit in Suffolkduring Half Term

Yesterday I gave you my Top Ten places to visit in Norfolk during half term, as we live on the border, today it’s the turn of Suffolk.

  1. Africa Alive

Africa Alive is situated in Kessingland just set your Sat Nav to NR33  7TF for a great family day out. At Africa Alive, explore the sights and sounds of Africa and discover lions, giraffes, meerkats, hunting dogs and many more animals from the African continent! 2. Dinky Town

Dinky Town can be found in Oulton Broad at NR32 3LR it ignites imaginations and provides a fantastic play setting within a safe environment. 3. Easton Farm Park

Easton Farm Park  located in Woodbridge Suffolk IP13 OEQ. Family Fun together whatever the weather! Check out the website for more information and a timetable of activities.

4. Framlingham Castle

Framlingham Castle situated in Suffolk at IP13 9BP has events taking place each school holidays, including Knights and Princesses. Polish your armour and dust off your tiara, it’s time to learn the tools of the trade as you become a knight or princess for the day. 5. Ickworth House

Ickworth House located at IP29 5QE. Come and explore Ickworth, and complete some of your 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4s. Come and be inspired at our explorer station by the children’s play area – then head off on the property to complete some of your 50 tasks. Enjoy a variety of children’s craft activities and games in the cheery comfort of our West Wing gallery. Make and take home some fun spring time items that your children will love and snuggle with stories and a hot chocolate or two. 6. Kentwell Hall

Kentwell Hall located at Long Melford CO10 9BA. They are hosting a Snow Drops and Spring Bulbs event from Saturday 11th February – Sunday 19th February.

Spring is the perfect time to visit the Kentwell Garden.

Explore the spring at Kentwell with lovely walks through the massed spring bulbs in the gardens and woodland.

7. Marina Theatre

Marina Theatre located in the centre of Lowestoft NR32 1HH, they have an amazing selection of shows for all of the family as well as a cinema.

8. Orford Castle

Orford Castle located in Woodbridge IP12 2ND. Discover one of England’s most complete and unusual keeps, at this fascinating visitor attraction in Suffolk. The unique polygonal tower keep of Orford Castle stands beside the pretty town and former port, which Henry II also developed here.The castle is remarkably intact allowing visitors to explore from the basement, through the lower and upper halls to the roof where there are magnificent views seaward to Orford Ness. Around the rooms is a maze of passages leading to the chapel, kitchen and other chambers in the turrets.

9. RSPB Minsmere

RSPB Minsmere located at IP17 3BY, it is a fantastic coastal nature reserve that’s perfect for families. There’s something to suit everyone at Minsmere. Visitors with little ones can enjoy shorter walks along our buggy-friendly paths, while older walkers can stride out along our longer, wilder trails or shell-speckled beach. Kids can let off steam in our Wild Zone natural play area: pretend to be a bittern in our brilliant child-sized nests, then climb through a giant sand martin tunnel before building a den in the woods!

10. Sutton Hoo

Sutton Hoo located at IP12 3DJ. Come and make a bird-feeder at Sutton Hoo this February Half Term to take home for the birds who visit your garden. Be taken on a tour of the burial mounds and discover the stories of what was discovered here.
